Now that the hard part is over, it's time to celebrate and start thinking like a Bear. You're extremely excited, you're a little nervous, and senior year simply cannot end fast enough! Go ahead, start wearing that orange and black with pride, get to know your future best friends and classmates on The Bear's Den, and enjoy every minute of this exciting time in your life. Opening Day will be here before you know it!
Over the coming weeks, you will receive important information from Mercer to help you complete the enrollment process and prepare you for your first year in Bear Territory. Be sure that you are signed up to receive emails, and check that we have your correct mailing address and phone number on file. We recommend that you check your email regularly so that you don't miss any special opportunities or important deadlines.

Submit Your Enrollment Deposit
Submit your $500 enrollment deposit, online or by mail, to secure your spot in Mercer University’s incoming class as well as your access to housing self-assignment and priority registration. (Your enrollment deposit is fully refundable until May 1, 2019.) Submit Deposit Now »
Join The Bear's Den
The Bear's Den, our Facebook group exclusively for accepted students, is the go-to spot to meet future fellow Mercerians, get to know current Mercer students, ask questions, find a roommate, and more. You will receive an email with access information after you are accepted to Mercer.
Submit Your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available beginning October 1, 2018, at studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa. Mercer's federal school code is 001580. Complete your FAFSA as early as possible to be considered for every type of financial assistance available, and submit your FAFSA by February 1 for priority consideration. Submissions received after this priority date will be considered as funds remain available.
Access Your MyMercer Account
MyMercer is our student web portal where you will view your financial aid award estimate, complete your housing contract, submit your Statement of Student Responsibilities, pay your bills, sign up for direct deposit for any refunds, and add authorized payers (such as your parents). You will receive instructions and login information via email to access your MyMercer account at https://my.mercer.edu/.
Schedule a Financial Planning Meeting with Your Admissions Counselor
When you receive your financial aid estimate in the mail, contact your admissions counselor to set up a time to review your estimate either in person or via phone and discuss any questions you may have.
Complete Your Housing Contract
Beginning March 4, access and complete your housing contract through your MyMercer account at https://my.mercer.edu/. You will be able to self-select your housing assignment based on the dates your enrollment deposit and completed housing contract are received.
Submit the Statement of Student Responsibilities
Beginning March 20, you should complete this step through your MyMercer account by the May 15 deadline to be eligible to register for classes.
Complete Your Mercer Academic Profile (MAP) and Register for Summer Orientation
Once you have submitted your deposit, you will receive an email notification, beginning in April, to complete your MAP and register for Summer Orientation. Your MAP is due June 10 and helps an advisor create your fall semester course schedule.
Attend Make It Mercer! on April 6
Exclusively for accepted students and their families, Make It Mercer! is your opportunity to celebrate with your future classmates at the place you’ll soon call home. Meet potential roommates, enjoy a service-learning experience, make new friends through icebreakers, and receive your Mercer ID: the Bear Card.
Attend Summer Orientation
During Orientation, you will attend a dean’s meeting, review your tentative fall course schedule with an academic advisor, and prepare for the fall semester.
Choose Your Housing
After submitting your housing contract by June 3, you will receive a notification through your Mercer email address the week of June 24, norifying you of the exact date and time to choose your room. During this process, you can select your roommate or ask for a random assignment.
Complete Your Immunization Form
Complete your immunization form and return it to the Mercer University Student Health Center by July 26.
Submit Your Official Academic Records
After graduation, submit your final high school transcript, dual enrollment college transcript, and AP and IB exam scores to the Office of University Admissions by July 31.
Complete Your Health Insurance Waiver
Complete the Health Insurance Waiver (available in the summer) by September 6 to waive Mercer's student health insurance if you already have coverage under another policy.
Complete the Everfi online training course
Mercer is committed to providing a healthy and safe campus environment for every student, and this brief online course is an important part of that process. You will receive a notification through your Mercer email address with detailed instructions for completing the course over the summer.
Accept your financial aid awards in MyMercer.
To apply aid to your bill, accept your awards and complete all required documents by Opening Day. Any aid you do not accept will not be applied to your bill.
Pay Your Account Balance or Enroll in a Payment Plan
Once you are registered for classes, fall semester bills will be posted to your MyMercer account in mid-July. You will receive information about payment plan options in your financial aid estimate, and your account balance is due by the first day of classes.
Complete Your Records Release Authorization
Complete the Student Records Release Authorization Form (available in the summer) by Opening Day to grant permission for Mercer to share academic or financial information with certain individuals (such as your parents/guardians). Only limited “directory information” will be released without this form on file.
Arrive for Opening Day and Attend Bear Beginnings!
Move into your new campus home! Fall semester Opening Day marks the first day of Bear Beginnings Fall Orientation.
Make It Mercer!
It's the biggest party of the year! Look for your exclusive invitation in March and get ready to make your first mark on campus as a Bear!
You and your family will attend a one-day session in June. While you're here, you'll meet with an academic advisor to review your fall course schedule, meet current and new Mercer students, and explore your new turf!
When you arrive at Mercer on Opening Day, you'll be greeted by smiling students, faculty, and staff who will help you move all of your stuff into your new home. No sweat!
Kick off your journey as a Mercerian at Bear Beginnings Fall Orientation. You'll spend lots of time getting to know your peer advisor, your orientation group of fellow first-year students, and your faculty academic advisor.
